Blizzard is shaking things up in Diablo 4 Season 9, and the upcoming PTR (May 27–June 3) is loaded with class buffs and reworks. This patch—version 2.3.0—sets the stage for Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim, launching in July 2025.
The Sorcerer gets the most love with 14 skill changes, including big buffs to Spark (now 25% damage per bolt), Arc Lash (42% → 80%), Fire Bolt (90% DoT), and Firewall (300% DoT). These changes should bring Fire and Lightning builds back into the spotlight.
Barbarians get fewer changes (just six), but they’re meaningful. Bash and Lunging Strike now hit for 90%, and Flay’s Bleed jumps from 48% to 115%. Leap now slows enemies instead of knocking them back—better for control. Frenzy and Hammer of the Ancients also get small but solid damage boosts.
There’s also a rework to Aspects, like the Necromancer’s Blighted Aspect. It now gives smaller damage boosts more frequently, rewarding aggressive play with the Shadowblight Key Passive.

Bottom line? Diablo 4 Season 9 PTR isn’t just a tune-up—it’s a full-on class rebalance, and it’s shaping up to be the most impactful update yet.
