报告题目:Design of Holographic Display Systems based on Artificial Intelligence
报告摘要:
Spatial computing systems aim to seamlessly connect people in hybrid physical-digital spaces, offering experiences beyond the limits of our physical world. Holographic displays promise unprecedented capabilities for the design of these systems. However, for decades, holographic displays have been relegated to the status of future technology due to several major challenges. In this talk, I will discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) can drive a paradigm shift in holographic display design by overcoming these obstacles. First, I will introduce an AI-driven algorithmic framework that models and learns light transport in arbitrary optical systems through differentiable wave optics, effectively bridging the gap between simulated and physical models. Following this, I will introduce recent advances in achieving compact form factors for AR/VR display systems, which is uniquely enabled by the aforementioned framework. Finally, I will talk about novel holographic rendering algorithms that enhance perceptual realism with full-parallax rendering bridging the gap between CGH and neural rendering.
讲者简介:
Suyeon is currently a postdoctoral scholar at the Stanford Computational Imaging Lab, working with Prof. Gordon Wetzstein. He is broadly interested in developing new algorithms and optical systems at the intersection of graphics, optics, AI, and vision science. During his Ph.D., he developed holographic display systems incorporating machine learning towards next-generation VR/AR displays, and his thesis received the ACM SIGGRAPH Outstanding Dissertation Award Honorable Mention in 2025. His research has been supported by a Meta Research PhD Fellowship, a SPIE Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship, a Kwanjeong Scholarship, a Korean Government Scholarship, and a GPU gift from NVIDIA.

报告摘要:
近年来,图像与视频生成模型展现出强大的内容生成与再创作能力。本报告将分享我们在XR领域基于预训练生成模型的内容编辑与创作方法,包括:在已有3D场景中按需生成与场景和谐的3D物体;以及通过解决多视角一致性与时间连续性等问题来实现沉浸式3D视频生成的相关研究。
讲者简介:
代鹏, 香港大学CVMI Lab博士生,导师为齐晓娟教授。他的研究兴趣包括:神经渲染,新视角合成,生成式内容创建。他曾于Google实习,研究沉浸式视频生成。他目前已于CVPR,ICLR,TVCG等会议期刊发表10余篇论文。

Yifan (Evan) Peng,香港大学助理教授,Evan Y. Peng is an Assistant Professor in the University of Hong Kong. Before joining HKU, he was a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in the Stanford University Computational Imaging Laboratory. He received my PhD in Computer Science from the Imager Lab, the University of British Columbia, both his MSc and BS in Optical Science and Engineering from State Key Lab of Modern Optical Instrumentation, Zhejiang University. His research interest lies in the interdisciplinary field of Optics, Graphics, Vision, and Artificial Intelligence, particularly with the focus of: Computational Optics, Sensing, and Display; Holographic Imaging/Display & VR/AR/MR; Computational Microscope Imaging; Low-level Computer Vision; Inverse Rendering; Human-centered Visual & Sensory Systems.
