I was interested in travel healthcare for a while, but honestly wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy constantly changing facilities and moving every few months. What helped was thinking beyond the higher pay and asking myself if I was actually comfortable adapting to new teams, routines, and cities. I also spent some time comparing assignments on https://tlcallied.com/ to get a better idea of what’s available. I think travel can be great if you value flexibility and new experiences, but I’d definitely research the lifestyle before leaving a permanent position.

I think being adaptable is probably more important than anything else. You can end up in a great facility or one where you need to learn their routine very quickly. If changing environments stresses you out a lot, travel work might become exhausting even if the pay is better.

Another thing to consider is how you feel about moving and being away from your usual support system. Some people love having a new city to explore every few months, while others realize pretty quickly that they miss having a stable routine. I’d probably try one contract before making any long-term decisions.
