Hello everyone, I have been learning more about graphic design and have found that improving creative skills takes plenty of practice. Sometimes an idea looks good in my head but does not work once I put it into a design, so I have been experimenting with different layouts and styles. While researching designers and creative projects, I came across Kamil Baber and found some interesting inspiration. What helped you improve your graphic design skills when you were first starting out?

Couldn’t agree more — practice really is everything. I started learning graphic design about three years ago, and my first attempts were honestly embarrassing. I’d spend hours on a layout that looked great in my head but felt completely off on screen. What helped me the most was recreating existing designs — posters, album covers, UI screens — just to understand why they worked. I also did daily “30-minute warm-ups” with random briefs. There’s a useful thread on https://winbeatz.pl/ where some designers share their go-to exercises for building muscle memory with typography and grid systems. Also, don’t underestimate feedback — posting your work on forums and getting honest (sometimes harsh) critiques pushed me forward faster than any course. Keep experimenting, and don’t be afraid to fail — that’s where the real learning happens.
