报告题目:Computational Assemblies for Digital Fabrication
报告摘要:
Assemblies are ubiquitous in our daily life, such as toys, electronic devices, furniture, and architecture. They enable to build large and complex objects by composing small yet simpler parts, facilitating fabrication, maintenance, and usage. However, designing assemblies is a highly non-trivial task because one needs to consider not only the properties of each individual component part, but also of the whole assembly, such as aesthetics and stability. Motivated by recent advancements in digital fabrication, various computational techniques have been developed to analyze, design, and fabricate assemblies, aiming to enable general users to easily personalize them. In this talk, I will introduce our attempts in the past years in advancing the theory and algorithms for computational design and fabrication of structurally stable assemblies. The usefulness of these assemblies has been demonstrated in applications like personalized puzzles, interlocking furniture, and free-form discrete architecture.
讲者简介:
Peng Song is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Prior to joining SUTD in 2019, he was a research scientist at EPFL, Switzerland, and an Associate Researcher at University of Science and Technology of China. He received his PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2013, his master and bachelor degrees both from Harbin Institute of Technology, China in 2010 and 2007 respectively. Peng’s research interest is in computer graphics, with a particular focus on geometry modeling, computational design, and digital fabrication. He has served as a co-organizer of a weekly web series on Computational Fabrication, and a program committee member of several leading conferences including SIGGRAPH Asia, Pacific Graphics (PG), and Symposium on Solid and Physical Modeling (SPM).

报告题目:几何微结构的高效仿真与设计优化
报告摘要:
增材制造技术的快速发展促进了复杂几何结构在航空航天、辅助医疗、交通运输等工业生产中的应用。自然界中广泛存在的具有优异物理性能的几何微结构可以通过增材制造的方式进行制备。如何设计几何微结构以达到特定的物理性能目标已成为一个前沿交叉研究方向。报告将结合近期的工作,围绕几何微结构的高效仿真与设计优化进行探讨。
讲者简介:
吕琳,山东大学齐鲁青年学者特聘教授,博士生导师。2011年获香港大学计算机科学博士学位,2007年至2009年间于法国国家信息与自动化研究所(INRIA)访问一年。研究方向为计算机图形学,主要关注以数字制造为背景的几何计算与优化问题。在ACM TOG,IEEE TVCG等国际期刊发表论文四十余篇,出版专著一部,获授权发明专利30余项并已转化应用3项。连续主持国家自然科学基金三项,参与科技部973项目、863重大专项项目、国家自然科学基金重点项目等多项。获2017年度陆增镛CAD&CG高科技奖二等奖,国际实体与物理造型会议(SPM 2020)最佳论文一等奖,2020年度山东省自然科学一等奖,2021年度吴文俊人工智能自然科学奖二等奖。

主持人简介:
徐豪,博士毕业于香港中文大学计算机系,深圳千帜科技有限公司创始人。读博以来一直参与拼装物体自动化生成与建模的工作,多个成果发表在SIGGRAPH(Asia),Eurographic,ICRA等国际图形学与机器人顶级会议与期刊。他研发的首个乐高机械组生成算法被香港明报、TVB等多家媒体报道,并在香港科学馆公开展示。基于他在博士期间的研究,他在2020年与团队在深圳成立了首个专门致力于智能设计与智能制造的公司(千帜科技),该公司的个性化定制产品已初步完成市场验证,并成功将智能设计领域的技术商业化。
